Malawi. Focus is on extension, teaching and research in the general
area of arthropods of public health and veterinary significance. Interacts
with agencies concerned with biting and non-biting pests, and potential
vectors of human and animal disease agents. Activities include studies
of the ecology of arthropod-borne diseases in U.S. and international
settings (Philippines, Malawi), biological control of mosquitoes with
bacteria, ecology of ticks and Lyme disease, and feeding ecology and
behavior of mosquito larvae.
