Housing
Housing for SCALI participants will be provided at the McDonel Hall (in one of the campus housing units). To make arrangements, please call the African Studies Center at 517/ 353-1700 with your MSU-ID for Lifelong Education SCALI registration and explain what you are looking for; as for Lisa Fruge. McDonel has suite-style singles as well as doubles. There are a limited number of rental units in each category and it is advisable to make the necessary arrangement early. Here is the cost structure on per day basis:
$30.88 per night, double occupancy
$42.07 per night single occupancy
Lodging cost includes breakfast, lunch and dinner
These rates are good with MSU ID which all SCALI participants will get once admitted to SCALI (see under Admission on the Tuition and Fees page. If one is not interested in staying on campus, he/she can also try to rent outside. For example, the Candlewood Suites (outskirts of campus). This is a studio or one bedroom suite which includes a full kitchen with cooking utensils, plates, etc. provided. Limited shuttle service will be provided.
